The Rural Healthcare Alliance sponsors programs open to the public in response to community need.

Sources of Strength

Peer leader training program for high school youth to spread hope, help and strength. When someone is struggling with suicide issues, peer leaders connect them to the help  they need and deserve.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

Create a collaborative effort to educate and engage Delaware County organizations about ACEs science and to implement  trauma-informed and resilience-building practices and policies.

Above the Influence (ATI)

Implement ATI in Delaware County middle schools, a substance-use prevention program led by peer youth leaders.

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Immunization

Increase HPV immunization rate among Delaware County residents ages 11 to 27 years of age through school based programs.

Smarter Lunchroom

Promote healthy foods and environmental changes in Delaware County school cafeterias based on Cornell University research.

Healthy Lifestyles

Improve nutritional knowledge and increase physical activity of Delaware County youth via school-based programs to address the childhood and adult obesity epidemic. Programs include CATCH, Girls on the Run, My Plate, Dig in Gardening, Great Garden Detective; Cooking Matters, and Family Mealtimes Matter.

Age Friendly Communities

Increase capacity of health services through collaborative age friendly educational projects. Promote age friendly programs    and safe walking/biking trails to increase physical activity among county residents.

Peer Recovery Coach and Recovery Advocates

Provide support to individuals with substance abuse and behavioral health issues who are in recovery.

Health Work Force/Careers

Identify successful health career programs and  promote health careers based on health workforce needs and opportunities. Educate area youth on health professions and proactively address healthcare worker shortages.

Regional Health Planning

Increase effectiveness and responsiveness of regional health care planning. Ensure availability of information about local/regional health services and programs.

County and Regional Training

Provide collaborative health education workshops and conferences based on needs and opportunities. Offer mental health first aide training to community groups.

Nurses

Long-term Care Support

Increase access to healthy living and long-term care support services for seniors and their families by developing and piloting integrative community health services that meet the needs of seniors and  caregivers in Delaware County.

Matter of Balance/Fall Prevention Tai Chi

Expand and enhance classes held to aid seniors in prevention of falls.
