Tractor Safety

By federal law, no person under 16 years of age may operate a farm tractor or farm machinery on a farm owned by anyone other than the person’s parents. The Tractor & Machinery Operator’s Certification Course allows exemption from this law for 14 and 15 year olds.

Course will cover safe operation and routine maintenance of farm tractors and will be taught by Larry Burgin, a Delhi farmer. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County 4-H Program will be sponsoring the course.  The cost to participate is $40 per person which includes the course workbook.
