YEARLY REQUIREMENTS
Its time to get ready for 2012! Here is a reminder of our policies and program requirements:
COGGINS & RABIES-- The office needs a COPY of a current negative Coggins test and proof of rabies vaccination. Coggins tests are current for 2 years, so a test from 2011 or 2012 is acceptable. Rabies is yearly, so check the date on your rabies shot. You may be valid for the May Clinic, but expired for the July Show. Also, don’t wait until May to call the vet! Get your tests done early, because the vets are very busy in the spring. According to Ag & Markets Law, it is illegal to transport a horse without proof of a negative Coggins test. Rabies vaccination is needed to meet fair requirements.
NYS HORSE CERTIFICATE--This form must be filled out for each project horse, and must be turned into the office by June 1. Project horses may be owned or leased. Only ONE leased horse is allowed to be designated as a project horse. There is no limit on family owned horses. A family can designate all of their horses as project horses.

RELEASE FOR YOUTH PARTICIPATION/ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK FORM--These forms must be filled out in order for the youth to participate in clinics and horse shows. Youth cannot participate without these forms being on file with the office.

RECORD BOOKS--A record book must be submitted with the County Fair entry form in order to ride in the fair horse show. Only ONE Record book is required, even if the youth has more than one project horse. If you have your record book from last year, you may add current pages to it. You do not need to do the entire book over. This is a change from last year. Don’t forget to send your record book with your fair entry form. They will not be accepted at the fair.
